The Chief Minister’s clear message is that those who commit such acts in Devbhoomi will not be spared. It is worth noting that a few days ago, a video of a restaurant located in Inamullah Building in Dehradun went viral rapidly in which the person cooking in the hotel was clearly seen spitting in the food. The very next day, another such incident came to light from Mussoorie, the queen of mountains, where a person was spitting in tea in the main market. Police had taken action in both these cases.
Strict action should be taken on misdeeds – CM
The head of the state has taken both these incidents very seriously. The Chief Minister’s clear message has been that anyone who hurts the sentiments of people by committing such misdeeds, irrespective of his religion or caste, should not be spared under any circumstances. In line with the strict instructions of the Chief Minister, the Director General of Uttarakhand Police directed all SSPs and districts to ensure 100% verification of employees working in hotels, dhabas and other commercial places as well as to ensure installation of CCTV cameras at such places. To curb these activities, a case should be registered under Section 274 BNS and Section 81 of the Uttarakhand Police Act. Apart from this, if such incidents have an adverse effect on religious, ethnic or linguistic sentiments, then strict action should also be taken under Section 196 (1).
