CM Pushkar Singh Dhami requested the Railway Minister that adequate number of trains should be operated from different states to Tanakpur during Purnagiri fair.

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has requested Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav to operate adequate number of trains from New Delhi, Mathura and Lucknow etc. to Tanakpur for the convenience of the devotees during Purnagiri fair.
In a letter sent to the Railway Minister, the Chief Minister said that Purnagiri fair is organized every year from Chaitra Navratri for the next 03 months at Purnagiri Shakti Peeth located in Tanakpur under Champawat district of Uttarakhand state. This year this fair will be organized from March 09 to June 09.

Additional train services have been provided by the Railways to Tanakpur from various places of the country during the Mela period. But it has been seen that the number of devotees coming to the fair is increasing every year. To make the journey of the pilgrims easy and safe, it has become necessary to provide more number of train services this year. Keeping this in view, the Chief Minister has requested the Railway Minister to increase rail services from various places of the country, mainly New Delhi, Mathura and Lucknow etc. to Tanakpur.
