Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has now adopted a strict stance on the increasing incidents of forest fire in the state. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Wednesday reviewed the action being taken to prevent forest fire and preparations in view of the upcoming monsoon season at the Secretariat. The Chief Minister will participate in the process of building fire lines to prevent forest fires and create public awareness. He said that public representatives should also be included in this. The Chief Minister directed that all secretaries should be given the responsibility of different districts to completely stop forest fires. All secretaries should visit the concerned districts and conduct on-site inspection of the areas affected by forest fire and take effective steps to stop forest fire.
10 personnel suspended
On the instructions of the Chief Minister, 10 Forest Department personnel who were negligent in preventing forest fire have been suspended. Instructions have been given to take disciplinary action against some other personnel also. He instructed all the District Magistrates to seek public cooperation for effective prevention of forest fire. Strict action should be taken as per rules against those found involved in incidents of setting fire in forests. To prevent forest fire, response time should be minimized. The Chief Minister said that an effective plan should be made for collecting Pirul from forests. Pirul collection centers should be built. Cooperation of the Cooperative Department should also be taken in this. The amount given for Pirul collection should be increased.
All preparations should be ensured before monsoon
During the meeting regarding preparations for the upcoming monsoon season, the Chief Minister directed that the process of cleaning, dredging and channelization of drains should be completed before the monsoon. The construction and repair work of security walls along the river banks should be completed on time. He directed that safety audit of all old bridges should be conducted. In view of the rainy season, complete arrangements for valley bridges should be made in sensitive areas. The Chief Minister said that a coordination committee of concerned departments should be formed to know the current status of depth and area of all the dams in the state. It should also be assessed what is the condition of the depth and area of the dam from the time of its construction till the present time.
Officers should work with a proactive approach
The Chief Minister directed that before the start of the monsoon season, complete preparations should be made by the health department along with awareness to prevent dengue, malaria and other water borne diseases. Special care should be taken of cleanliness. In view of the disaster, rapid action team of the health department should be kept ready. The Chief Minister said that we should work with a pro-active approach to solve the problems of the people. All necessary arrangements should be ensured for adequate supply of drinking water. Adequate alternative arrangements should be made for clean drinking water. Where there is a problem of drinking water, drinking water should be supplied through tankers and mules. For this, all the executing agencies should work in coordination.
Arrangement of weather alert for Chardham pilgrims
The Chief Minister directed that all arrangements should be kept smooth in view of the Chardham Yatra in the state. It should be ensured that people receive alerts related to weather information through SMS. The information system should be strengthened for exchange of Chardham and other weather related information. For the convenience of the devotees, all departments should ensure better arrangements at their level. Keeping in mind public convenience, maximum use of modern technology should be made. The Chief Minister said that in view of the disaster, adequate arrangements for JCBs should be made at sensitive places and Char Dham Yatra routes.
