Congress’s attitude has become more aggressive on the ongoing dispute over the gold plate in the sanctum sanctorum in Kedarnath. Former president of Shri Badrinath-Kedarnath temple committee and former state president of Congress Ganesh Godial, expressing apprehension of corruption in this episode, has demanded an investigation by the SIT.
Talking to reporters at the state Congress headquarters Rajiv Bhavan on Wednesday, Ganesh Godial said that the temple priests, Panda Samaj and Kedarnath Sabha have leveled allegations on the gold plates installed in the sanctum sanctorum of the Kedarnath temple. It is being said that instead of gold, brass has been used in the sanctum sanctorum. Along with this, different claims have been made regarding the quantity of gold.
Playing with the faith of Hindus during BJP rule:
Ganesh Godial said that gold does not dissolve even with strong acid, but if it is being said that it dissolves with water, then it is a matter of investigation. One should not run away from this investigation. The same demand is being made from the government that it should be investigated. He said that due to this controversy, the image of Devbhoomi Uttarakhand, Uttarakhandiyat has been tarnished across the country.
He further said that the faith of Hindus is constantly being played with during the BJP rule. The gold on the walls of the sanctum sanctorum has turned into brass. At the same time, a woman showered notes in the sanctum sanctorum in the presence of priests. Not only this, donations are being taken from Paytm barcode.
Question of Chardham self-respect:
Former Chief Minister Harish Rawat said that Char Dham is a question of self-respect. The matter of corruption on the issue of gold in Kedarnath temple is serious. Instead of taking it seriously, they want to confuse BJP state president Mahendra Bhatt by associating it with faith in the temple. The former Chief Minister said that the Chief Minister and the Government should give an explanation in this matter.
The situation will be clear from the investigation itself:
State Congress President Karan Mahara said that different claims are also coming out regarding the amount of gold planted in the sanctum sanctorum. Earlier it was told that more gold would be required. Now there is talk of using 23 kg gold. What is the reality, it will be clear only by investigation. Leader of Opposition Yashpal Arya was also present on the occasion.
