The wait for dearness allowance of more than three lakh employees, teachers and pensioners of government, semi-government, autonomous bodies and educational institutions of the state has come to an end.
Dearness allowance has been increased by four percent from 38 percent to 42 percent of the personnel getting the seventh pay scale. On the other hand, this increase in dearness allowance has been made by nine percent i.e. from 212 percent to 221 percent for the personnel taking the sixth pay scale.
All these personnel have also been given the gift of cash payment of arrears from January 1, 2023 to April 30. From May 1, 2023, it will be paid along with regular salary.
Order issued in this regard on Friday:
Finance Secretary Dilip Jawalkar issued orders in this regard on Friday. The government employees of the state were demanding an increase in dearness allowance for a long time. The central government has already increased the dearness allowance for its employees from 38 percent to 42 percent.
It has now been implemented in the state like central personnel. The increased allowance will be available from January 1, 2023. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has already approved the letter of increased dearness allowance to the personnel. A letter in this regard was sent to the Chief Minister by the Finance Department. The cabinet had authorized the Chief Minister to take a decision on increasing the DA of the personnel.
According to the mandate, the balance of revised dearness allowance will be paid in cash to the personnel from January 1, 2023 to April 30, 2023. From May 1, it will be paid along with regular salary. However, the pension contribution of the employees covered under the Contributory Pension Scheme and an equal amount along with the employer’s share shall be credited to the account related to the New Pension Scheme. The remaining amount will be paid in cash.
Increase in salary from around Rs 1.500 to Rs 7000:
With the increase in dearness allowance, there will be an increase in the salary of the personnel by about Rs 1.500 to Rs 7000. This dearness allowance will also be admissible to the officers of All India Service working under the state. These orders will not automatically apply to High Court judges, Uttarakhand Public Service Commission chairman, members and public sector employees. The concerned departments will issue separate orders regarding them.
