The hooliganism was done in broad daylight in Gujrada Man Singh branch of Canara Bank. When the branch manager called a customer (account holder) to deposit the loan installment, he threatened him by abusing him.
It is alleged that the next day the accused sent eight miscreants, who ransacked the bank and kidnapped the branch manager and took him hostage. After this, apologizing and leaving threatening not to call again. Rajpur police station has registered a case against nine persons including one named.
Called to deposit loan installment:
According to Police Station President Rajpur Jitendra Singh Chauhan, Saurabh Dhoundiyal, manager of Canara Bank’s Gujrada Man Singh branch, gave a complaint that on July 21, he had called the account holder Madan Nautiyal to deposit the loan installment. It is alleged that Madan threatened and abused the branch manager Saurabh and told him to come to the branch and teach him a lesson.
According to Saurabh, on July 22, when he was working in the bank, around 1.30 pm, eight people overpowered the guard and entered inside and started ransacking. One of them shouted that where is the manager, we will teach him a lesson today. Today is his last day.
Hearing the noise, when he came out of his chamber, one of the accused told him that he was sent by Madan Nautiyal, from whom you were asking for the loan installment. The other person said that he has committed 11 murders, committing one more murder will not make any difference to him. After this, all the accused forcibly made him sit in the vehicle and took him to ITI Gujrada Mansingh College, where Madan Nautiyal was present.
It is alleged that Madan abused him there. Taking out his weapon, a young man among the accused asked Saurabh to apologize by holding Madan Nautiyal’s feet. Out of fear, he apologized three-four times. After this, he was released saying that if he called again, the result would not be good. The police station chief said that a case has been registered against the nine accused including the accused Madan Nautiyal.
Police did not impose section of kidnapping and taking hostage:
Despite the matter being serious, the police took it lightly and registered a case under lighter sections. Police Station President Rajpur Jitendra Singh Chauhan said that CCTV footage from the bank will be checked. Apart from this, the ITI in which the matter of asking for forgiveness by showing weapons is coming to the fore, will also be investigated and after that sections will be increased in the case.
