
In Uttarakhand, government employees who were involved in the recruitment process before October 1, 2005, will get the benefit of the old pension scheme. Pushkar Singh Dhami Cabinet took an important decision to give the option of old pension to these personnel included in the new pension scheme. More than six thousand personnel will benefit from this. It has also been decided that 35 thousand class IV employees working in government offices of the state will be given uniform allowance of Rs 2400 every year. Under the policy of promoting green energy, green signal was given to provide 50 percent subsidy to domestic consumers and 30 percent subsidy to commercial consumers on installation of solar water heater plants.
Decision taken in the cabinet
In the Cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Monday at the Secretariat, decisions were taken keeping in mind the interests of employees, entrepreneurs, youth as well as forest, wildlife and environmental protection. Briefing the decisions of the Cabinet, Chief Secretary Dr. SS Sandhu said that the state government has also decided to increase the scope of the old pension scheme as per the order of the Center dated March 3, 2023.

In all the government departments of the state, such employees who had participated in the recruitment process on or before October 1, 2005, will also be given the option of the old pension scheme. That is, even if the recruitment advertisement is released or the recruitment process is notified before the date of implementation of the new pension scheme, the benefit of the old pension will be given. At present such personnel are covered under the new pension scheme due to their appointment after October 1, 2005.
Federation’s demand fulfilled
The Cabinet has amended the system of uniform allowance for Class IV employees working in subordinate government offices other than the Secretariat. According to the Government Order of 2011, there is a provision to provide summer uniforms to these employees in two years and winter uniforms in four years. Fourth Class State Employees Federation is demanding to provide acceptable uniforms at market rates and increase the stitching rates. The government fulfilled this demand. These employees will now get Rs 2400 per year as uniform allowance.
50 percent subsidy on solar water heater
The Cabinet decided to provide subsidy to consumers for installing solar water heater plants. Through Uttarakhand Renewable Energy Development Agency (UREDA), 50 percent subsidy will be given to domestic consumers and 30 percent subsidy to commercial consumers on installation of water heater plants. Apart from this, according to the capacity of the water heater, a discount of Rs 1.50 per liter will be given in the electricity bill.
