The state government is preparing to bring the budget in the second fortnight of February. After the presentation of the central government’s budget on February 1, the state government will finalize its budget. According to Secretary Finance Dilip Javalkar, proposals have been received from all the departments for the upcoming financial year 2025-26 and these are being discussed. Regarding the progress of the current budget, the Finance Secretary said in a conversation with media persons, 40 thousand crore rupees have been spent so far as compared to the budget. In this, Rs 6,000 crore is capital expenditure. The last quarter is going on in which the expenditure increases. The rate of expenditure so far is eight percent more than last year. It is likely to increase further. Said, the flow of approvals from the central government is fine. On the preparation of the budget, he said, the central government will present the budget on February 1. This will give us an idea of which new schemes are coming and from where we can get help.
We will prepare ourselves accordingly. He said, there is no problem of resources. Mining has performed well in GST, VAT. Forest department, UPCL and other corporations are not getting funds as per the target.
