Pushkar Singh Dhami government is leaving no stone unturned to please the employees of the state before the Lok Sabha elections. Employees on child care leave will now be given leave salary equal to the salary they are receiving after 365 days, i.e. for the second consecutive year. Along with this, the Cabinet approved the creation of a new post of Senior Personal Officer by increasing the opportunities for promotion in the Personal Assistant cadre. Giving great relief to the farmers, it has also been decided to increase the price of sugarcane by Rs 20 per quintal.

The price of sugarcane has been fixed at Rs 375 for early variety and Rs 365 per quintal for normal variety. In the cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Wednesday at the Secretariat, important decisions were taken in the interest of the employees and sugarcane farmers of the state. The government has been adopting a liberal stance for a long time regarding the demands of employee organizations and resolving their problems.
Green signal given for partial amendment
Chief Secretary Dr. SS Sandhu gave information about the decisions of the Cabinet. He said that female government servants or male and female single parents will get 100 percent leave salary for the second year also during child care leave. In this regard, the Cabinet approved a partial amendment to the government order dated June 1, 2023. Child care leave is given for a maximum of two years i.e. 730 days in the entire service period. Till now, it was decided to give 100 percent of the leave salary to the employees for the first 365 days and 80 percent of the leave salary for the next 365 days. Now they will get full salary during the total leave period.
Paving the way for more opportunities for promotion
The Cabinet cleared the way for more opportunities for promotion in the Personal Assistant cadre. Under the staffing pattern, it has been decided to create the post of Senior Personnel Officer in the grade pay of 4800. For this, revised staffing pattern has been approved.
Sugarcane price increased by Rs 20
The Cabinet approved the determination of sugarcane price and rate of sugarcane development contribution for the crushing season 2023-24. The sugarcane price fixed for the last crushing season 2022-23 has been increased by Rs 20 to Rs 375 per quintal for the early variety and Rs 365 per quintal for the normal variety. The rate of sugarcane development contribution (commission) was fixed at Rs 5.50 per quintal. As a result, it has been decided to provide financial assistance of Rs 1.36 crore from the state government for the payment of salaries and other dues of the employees of the Sugarcane Development Committee.
