
Dussehra, the festival of victory of truth over untruth, was celebrated grandly in Doon. With the burning of effigies of Ravana in various areas, people resolved to give up ego and follow the path of truth. A crowd of people also gathered to see the tall statue. The 76th Dussehra festival was celebrated at the Parade Ground by the Bannu Biradari Dussehra Committee. At exactly 6:05, Lanka Dahan, Meghnath and Kumbhakaran effigies were burnt at 6:17, while at 6:20, the historic 131 feet high effigy of Ravana was burnt. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami and other guests burnt the effigy of Ravana by pressing the button of the remote.
CM Dhami arrived
Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, who arrived at the Dussehra Mahotsav on behalf of Bannu Biradari Dussehra Committee at the Parade Ground, said these things. After worshiping Shri Ram and Hanuman ji, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami burnt the effigies of Ravana, Meghnad and Kumbhkaran. The Chief Minister wished everyone a happy Dussehra. He said that wherever we see evil in the society, this festival also gives the message to remove it. Only by becoming a good person can we become participants in building a good society and country.

CM Dhami said that today under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, there has been a renaissance of the country’s Sanatan culture. Under his able leadership the country’s respect and honor has increased in the world. There are many places associated with Lord Ram, Lakshman and Mata Sita in Uttarakhand also.
Pledge will be taken for “Drug Free Devbhoomi”
The Chief Minister called upon the people of the state to make some positive contribution to the state by the year 2025 i.e. by celebrating the silver jubilee of the state’s formation, and to take a pledge to make the state the dream state of the state agitators. Said that a resolution will also have to be taken to create a completely targeted “Drug Free Devbhoomi” by the year 2025.
Dussehra is a reflection of social values
On this special occasion, CM Dhami said that this festival of Dussehra is a lesson for our society and a reflection of social values. This festival takes forward the tradition of showcasing our collective strength, increasing sensitivity towards social responsibilities and making efforts towards eradicating social evils.
People danced to the hymns of Ram
Special fireworks lasted for about half an hour. The residents of the city, immersed in the joy of Dussehra, danced a lot to the beats of the band, drums and hymns of Ram. Apart from this, there were fireworks and dance during the burning of Ravana and Lanka on the grand occasion of Dussehra in Laxman Chowk, Indira Nagar, Premnagar and Patel Nagar.

On behalf of Bannu Biradari Dussehra Committee, a procession was taken out from Kalika Temple located on Ansari Marg in the afternoon on the occasion of Dussehra Mahotsav. In the procession, the artists playing different characters, seated in a trolley decorated with flowers, were welcomed at various places. Reached the parade ground from Ashleyhal Chowk via Moti Bazar, Paltan Bazar, Ghantaghar. After burning the effigies of Ravana, Kumbhakarna, Meghnad and Lanka, the procession took a break after reaching the temple again.
