Former Champawat MLA and Chairman of Uttarakhand Forest Development Corporation Kailash Gahtodi passed away. Kailash Gahtodi had left his seat for Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami. He died on Friday in Dehradun. He was admitted in Doon Hospital. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has expressed grief over his demise.
Kailash was battling cancer
Kailash Gahtodi was admitted in Doon Medical College Hospital for several days. He was battling cancer. He breathed his last at around 7 am on Friday morning. According to MS Dr. Anurag Aggarwal, the family has left for Kashipur with the dead body.
The mortal remains are likely to reach Kashipur by 11.30 am. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami will also attend the funeral. CM will land at Pant Nagar Airport and reach Kashipur by road. The last journey will start at 4 pm. After which his last rites will be performed with full state honours.

You have spent your entire life in public service, you will always be remembered as an ideal public representative. As an MLA, your dedication towards the development of Champawat region is a source of inspiration for us. The company I had with you in the field of politics and public service was so intimate and close to my heart that today it is extremely difficult to believe that you are no longer among us. You will always be remembered as a good friend and elder brother. We will work dedicatedly towards fulfilling your resolutions regarding the development of Champawat. I pray to God to grant the blessed soul a place at His feet and the bereaved family members the strength to bear this immense suffering.
