The legendary costume of Jaunsar Bawar, known for its unique culture in the country and the world, became the center of attraction at the Red Fort in Delhi on Independence Day. The persons present there took selfies with the group of men and women of Jaunsar Bawar. The Uttarakhand government sent a group of about 50 women and men from the Jaunsar Bawar Tribal Welfare Committee, Delhi, to the Red Fort on Independence Day.
Jaunsar Bawar’s costume caught everyone’s attention
Everyone left together from Uttarakhand Bhawan. As soon as the group of women in Jaunsari costumes Ghaghra, Jaga, Dantu reached the Red Fort. The attention of the people present there went to the group dressed as Jaunsar Bawar. There was an influx of people clicking selfies with the group. A group of 50 women and 50 men from Jaunsar Bawar were present till Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s speech at the Red Fort.
Villagers jump with joy
When the villagers saw the women and men arriving at the Red Fort dressed as Jaunsar Bawar on TV, an atmosphere of happiness was seen in the area. Regional villagers say that it is a matter of pride that the attraction of the costumes worn on their festivals in the villages has reached even the Red Fort of Delhi.
