The way has been cleared for four percent increase in dearness allowance to more than three lakh employees and pensioners of state government, semi-government bodies and educational institutions. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has approved the finance proposal to increase the dearness allowance from 38 percent to 42 percent. Government order will be issued soon in this regard.
The central government has increased the dearness allowance for its employees from 38 percent to 42 percent. Like the Centre, this allowance is to be given to the employees of the state from January 1, 2023. Employees’ organizations have been demanding this for a long time. A letter in this regard was sent to Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami by the Finance Department.
Secretary Chief Minister Shailesh Bagoli said that on Monday the Chief Minister approved the letter of increase in dearness allowance. Along with the salary of this month i.e. on June 1, the employees will now be able to get the increased dearness allowance.
The cabinet had authorized the Chief Minister to take a decision on increasing the DA of the personnel. After the approval of the Chief Minister, a mandate regarding dearness allowance will be issued soon. Employees and pensioners of state as well as public corporations and undertakings in the state have been waiting for dearness allowance for a long time.
After government employees, orders are given to pay dearness allowance to employees of public corporations and undertakings. However, the employees’ organizations of the corporations have been demanding for a long time to give dearness allowance together.
