The trial run of Vande Bharat Express has started in Uttarakhand from Tuesday i.e. 23rd May. Under this, trials were conducted at Doiwala and Dehradun railway stations. The journey of Haridwar Dehradun-New Delhi via this train will now be completed in less than half the time.
From May 25, the much-awaited state-of-the-art Vande Bharat train will start operating between Dehradun-New Delhi. Departure from Dehradun at 11:00 am and the proposed arrival time of the train at Haridwar is 12:00 noon. However, the local railway administration is still waiting for the detailed schedule of the train from the Railway Board.
At present, Shatabdi, Jan Shatabdi, Uttaranchal Express, Mussoorie, Dehradun-Indore, Ujjaini, Nanda Devi AC Express etc. trains are operating between Dehradun to New Delhi. These trains take about six hours to cover the distance of 314 km.
Train will travel 314 km in three to three and a half hours:
A high speed train like Shatabdi also takes five hours fifty five minutes to reach Delhi from Dehradun. According to the information received from the local railway administration, Vande Bharat via Haridwar will complete the Dehradun-New Delhi journey in half the time.
That is, in three to three and a half hours, the train will travel 314 km. Its average speed will be 160 kmph. Stoppage of this train is proposed at Roorkee, Muzaffarnagar, Meerut etc. stations. The 16-coach Electric Multiple Unit train has AC Chair Car as well as AC Executive Car. The AC chair car fare is proposed to be around Rs 900-1000 and the AC executive chair car fare is around Rs 1400.
A trial run on the route is proposed on Tuesday. However, the rack has not arrived yet. Station Superintendent Dinesh Jha told that a grand welcome will be given when the train reaches Haridwar on May 25. Preparations related to this are going on. The work of preparing platform etc. is also going on near the parcel house of platform one. Told that the official schedule of the train has not yet come from the Railway Board.
