
Pregnant women can now avail the benefit of Khushiyon Ki Sawari vehicle service being run in government hospitals for safe delivery for free even for prenatal checkup. Chief Secretary Radha Raturi gave instructions to the health department officials in the review meeting of Pulse Anemia Mahabhiyan. Also, they were asked to do extensive publicity in this regard, so that poor pregnant women living in remote areas can get its benefit.
46.4 percent pregnant women up to 49 years of age suffer from anemia
A presentation related to anemia among women in the state was also given in the review meeting. It came to light that 46.4 percent pregnant women up to 49 years of age suffer from anemia. The national average in this case is 50.4 percent. The Chief Secretary directed all the District Magistrates to ensure the implementation of the action plan prepared by the National Health Mission to eliminate anemia with the help of the Department of Women Welfare and Child Development, Health and Education.
Instructions to identify anemia in the first stage itself
The Chief Secretary directed the Health Department to ensure the identification of anemia in the first stage of pregnancy of all pregnant women. Along with this, the District Magistrates were directed to make arrangements for regular testing of anemia in the districts, especially among pregnant women, reporting and training for Women Welfare and Child Development and ANM for this work.
The report of the hemoglobin level of the girl students will also be given to the parents
The Chief Secretary stressed upon the Education Department to get the hemoglobin level of the girl students checked in all the schools every month and to also compulsorily record it in the attendance register. The responsibility of checking and recording the hemoglobin level in the attendance register will be of the class teacher on the instructions of the Principal. This test will be done through the nearest Community Health Center. Regular information about the hemoglobin level of the girl students will also be given to the parents through the report card. The Chief Secretary also asked to organize one play on health information in schools in a week.
Complete the target of TB free Uttarakhand soon
The Chief Secretary also asked all the District Magistrates to work seriously on the action plan of the Health Department to complete the target of TB free Uttarakhand soon. Health Secretary Dr. R Rajesh Kumar, Additional Secretary Swati Bhadoria and other officials of the Health Department were present in the meeting, while all the District Magistrates joined the meeting through video conferencing.
