Giants started preparing the basis for the claim, many leaders are eyeing this seat of Uttarakhand

There is still more than one and a half years left for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, but many veterans of the ruling BJP in Uttarakhand have started preparing the ground for their claim. Most such leaders are seen in the traditional Tehri Lok Sabha seat of the Tehri Raj family.
Senior member of Dhami cabinet Subodh Uniyal has also indicated preparations to contest from this seat. In the event of Tehri MP Maharani Mala Rajyalakshmi Shah not contesting the election, many other BJP leaders are also looking for their opportunity. The BJP is in a very strong position in Uttarakhand for the last eight years.
BJP had hoisted the flag on all the five seats
In the 2009 Lok Sabha elections, the Congress got all the five seats in the state, but in the year 2014 the situation changed completely. BJP candidates registered emphatic victory on all the five seats.
In the year 2019 elections, once again BJP repeated its previous performance and won all the five seats. In the assembly elections held earlier this year, the BJP came to power with a two-thirds majority, winning 47 of the 70 seats.

BJP leader is confident about the Lok Sabha elections to be held in 2024:
If seen from this point of view, the BJP leaders are confident about the Lok Sabha elections to be held in the year 2024. One of the major reasons for this is that its main rival Congress is seen in a very weak position. The infighting of the party has left no stone unturned. The Congress in Uttarakhand is divided into several factions and the party leaders do not hesitate to attack each other whenever they get a chance.
Seeing the political situation in favor, now many senior BJP leaders have started looking for possibilities for themselves from Tehri seat. One of the reasons for this is that there is a discussion in the political circles that the sitting MP may not contest the next election. Cabinet Minister and BJP MLA from Narendra Nagar Subodh Uniyal indicated preparations to contest the Lok Sabha elections at a program in Narendra Nagar.

Apart from Uniyal, former Chief Minister Vijay Bahuguna is also being considered as a contender from this seat. Bahuguna had joined the BJP in March 2016 along with eight other Congress MLAs. After this, Bahuguna did not even contest the 2017 and 2022 assembly elections.
Although his son Saurabh Bahuguna Dhami is a part of the cabinet. Apart from these, BJP MLA Munna Singh Chauhan and Jyoti Prasad Gairola, who has held many important posts in the organization, can also claim from Tehri seat. By the way, he has not yet opened his cards for contesting elections.
