After the victory of NDA in the Lok Sabha elections, Narendra Modi took oath as the Prime Minister of India for the third time in a row on Sunday. After the independence of the country, Modi is the first non-Congress politician who has become the Prime Minister for the third time in a row. Apart from the Prime Minister, 30 cabinet ministers, seven ministers of state (independent charge) and 34 ministers of state have taken oath in the cabinet. Social balance has also been taken care of in the cabinet.

27 ministers from OBC community, 10 from Scheduled Caste, five from Scheduled Tribe and five from minority community have been made ministers. Nine new faces have got a place in the cabinet. Seven leaders from India’s neighbours, Indian Ocean region attended the swearing-in ceremony. Many big personalities of the country also attended the program. President Draupadi Murmu administered the oath of office and secrecy to Modi in a grand ceremony held at Rashtrapati Bhavan. He took oath in the name of God. With this, he equaled the record of the country’s first Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru of becoming Prime Minister three times in a row.

Along with Modi, senior BJP leaders Rajnath Singh, Amit Shah, Nitin Gadkari, Shivraj Chauhan, Nirmala Sitharaman, Piyush Goyal and S Jaishankar took oath as cabinet ministers, indicating the Prime Minister’s emphasis on continuity and experience. All these leaders were also in senior positions in the second term of the Modi government. Party President JP Nadda returned to the cabinet after five years. Former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan and former Haryana CM Manohar Lal are new faces in the Modi cabinet.

RSS pracharak turned Union Minister Manohar Lal has started a new innings. BJP leaders Piyush Goyal, Jyotiraditya Scindia, Dharmendra Pradhan and Bhupendra Yadav have been retained in the cabinet. Former Assam CM Sarbananda Sonowal, Ashwini Vaishnav, Virendra Kumar, Prahlad Joshi, Giriraj Singh and Jual Oram were among those who took oath as ministers. Mansukh Mandaviya has received the award for working diligently during the Corona epidemic. He has been made a cabinet minister again. Two-time Karnataka Chief Minister Kumaraswamy has also got a place in the cabinet.

Similarly, Bihar Chief Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi has also been made a cabinet minister. NDA constituent party RLD chief and Rajya Sabha member Jayant Chaudhary took the oath of office and secrecy as Minister of State (Independent Charge). Jayant Chaudhary is the grandson of former Prime Minister Chaudhary Charan Singh. Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) chief Chirag Paswan has strengthened his position as the ‘real’ political successor of father Ram Vilas Paswan. On Sunday, surprising everyone, Chirag was included in the Narendra Modi government.
Chirag starting a new innings
Chirag, who calls himself ‘Hanuman’ of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, is now going to start his new innings as a minister at the Center. Former diplomat Hardeep Singh Puri, who showed his diplomatic acumen in pushing forward the construction of the new Parliament and pulling India out of two oil crises, has been rewarded for a scam-free tenure in his ministries. Puri, who was the Minister of Housing and Urban Affairs and Petroleum and Natural Gas in the previous government, has also been given a place in the cabinet.
