The monsoon session of the Assembly is going to start from Tuesday. The two-day agenda was approved in the meeting of the Assembly’s Business Advisory Committee held on Monday. On the first day, the House will pay tribute to former minister Chandan Ram Das and former MLA Kunwar Singh Negi, while on the next day the supplementary budget will be presented along with legislative work.
Five crore will be released for supplementary budget
Supplementary budget can be up to five thousand crore rupees. During the session, 13 bills including supplementary will be introduced. The legislators have put 614 questions for the session. Meanwhile, the opposition has made a strategy to surround the government from the streets to the House on various issues including encroachment, disaster, unemployment, law and order.
The government has also prepared arrows in its quiver to respond to the attacks of the opposition. In such a situation, the session is likely to be turbulent.
The program will be held from 5th to 8th September
In the recent meeting of the Dhami cabinet, the program for the monsoon session of the Vidhansabha from September 5 to 8 was approved. A two-day agenda for the session was decided in the meeting of the Business Advisory Committee held under the chairmanship of Assembly Speaker Ritu Khanduri Bhushan on Monday. The committee will meet again on September 6, in which further agenda will be decided. Earlier, Assembly Speaker Khanduri held a meeting with party leaders. He expected everyone’s cooperation in the smooth functioning of the House.
The opposition talked about cooperation on issues related to the state and its people raised in the House. Parliamentary Affairs Minister Premchand Aggarwal, Leader of Opposition Yashpal Arya, BSP MLA Mohammad Shahzad, BJP MLA Umesh Sharma Kau and Khajanadas were present in the meetings. On the other hand, in the meeting of BJP and Congress legislative parties, their respective strategies regarding the session were finalized.
