When 5120 mini Anganwadi centers in the state are upgraded as Anganwadi centres, one assistant will be appointed in each. Women Empowerment and Child Development Minister Rekha Arya gave this information after the departmental review meeting on Monday. He has also asked for details of vacant posts of workers and assistants in Anganwadi and Mini Anganwadi centres. Also, instructions have been given to prepare a proposal regarding their appointment.
Central government agreed
According to Women Empowerment and Child Development Minister Arya, the Central Government has given consent to upgrade 5120 mini Anganwadi centers operating in the state as Anganwadi centres. It is expected that by the end of this month, after getting approval from the Centre, the upgradation of these Mini Anganwadi Centers will start. This is a big achievement for the state. He said that along with the worker, a helper is also appointed in the Anganwadi centre. In this way, if Mini Anganwadi Centers are upgraded, 5120 women will be able to get employment there as assistants.
He told that the posts of workers and assistants are vacant in Anganwadi centres. Recently 167 Anganwadi workers have been promoted to the post of supervisor. In such a situation, these posts of Anganwadi workers have become vacant. Some posts are already vacant. He said that details of the vacant posts of workers and assistants in Anganwadi centers in all the districts have been sought from the officials. Also, they have been asked to prepare a proposal regarding their appointment. He said that the intention of the government is clear that the post of worker and assistant should not remain vacant in any Anganwadi.
