Cooperative Minister Dr. Dhan Singh Rawat said that the cabinet’s approval of the Uttarakhand Multipurpose Primary Agricultural Cooperative Society Employees Central Service Rules has ushered in a new era in the cooperative sector in the state. This historic decision will help cooperative societies to overcome losses. At the same time, the interests of the employees working in the societies will also be protected.
Dr. Rawat said that at the time of formation of the state, the rules of Uttar Pradesh were in force to control the services of employees working in cooperative societies. Now keeping in mind the special context and requirement of the state, new rules have been brought under the Cooperative Societies Act.
With this, the multipurpose cooperative societies in the state will now come into a position of profit, which will give them new life. Many societies in the state are still struggling with losses. Due to this, the secretaries, accountants and development assistants working there were facing financial difficulties. With the implementation of the new rules, financial and technical assistance will be provided by the government to the societies running in loss. This assistance will remain till the committees recover from the losses and come back to normal condition. Along with this, the salary scale of the employees can also be increased on the basis of the profit of the committees, which will act as an incentive for them. He said that the new rules will create new opportunities for the employees and there will also be transparency in the work. This rule has been made to protect the interests of the committees and employees.
The interests of the old cadre secretaries have also been kept intact, so that no employee is harmed. He said that this rule will write a new chapter in the field of cooperation in the state.
