
Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said that it is the priority of the government to normalize the situation in Kedarghati as soon as possible and the journey continues smoothly. He said this during the review of the Disaster Management Department on Tuesday. He inquired from the DM of Rudraprayag about the works going on in the disaster affected area of Kedarghati. Also, directed to prepare an alternative route to Kedarnath Dham soon. He asked the DM that if he needs any kind of help from the government level, then inform about it immediately. The Chief Minister directed Chief Secretary Radha Raturi to hold a meeting with NHIDCL, NHAI and other departments with a view to repair the disaster related reconstruction works, Chardham Yatra route and other damaged highways as soon as possible. Also asked other departments including PWD to settle old liabilities soon. He said that whatever pending works are there in the departments, they should be settled immediately. He told the District Magistrates that if there are problems in spending the funds from the disaster fund, then bring them to the notice of Disaster Management Secretary Vinod Kumar Suman.
2500 km of roads will be patchless
During the meeting, Additional Secretary of PWD Vineet Tomar told the Chief Minister that PWD has set a target of making 2500 km of roads patchless in the state. This includes 668 roads of the state. These roads will be made patchless as per the set target.
427 crores allocated so far for disaster prevention
In the meeting, it was informed that Rs 427.87 crores have been allocated for disaster prevention in the state in the current financial year. In this, Rs 386.87 crores have been given from SDRF, Rs 15 crores from State Sector Reduction and Rs 26 crores from State Sector Non SDRF. An additional amount of Rs 95 crores is being given for restoration and rehabilitation under SDRF. For this, 50 crores will be given to PWD, 15 crores to PMGSY, 20 crores to Drinking Water Corporation and 10 crores to UPCL.
Displacement of disaster affected villages in Tehri by December
Tehri DM Mayur Dixit told the Chief Minister that the situation has become normal to a great extent after the disaster in Ghansali area. The work of repairing the roads which have suffered more damage is going on. He also said that the disaster affected villages of the area will be displaced by December. Funds have been received from the government for this. Apart from this, the work of construction of security wall in Budhakedar has also been approved.
Request to issue clear government order
Udham Singh Nagar DM Uday Raj Singh informed the Chief Minister that after the guidelines issued by the Center regarding reconstruction and recovery, practical difficulties are being faced in spending the money. In view of this, he requested to issue a clear government order. On this, the Chief Minister directed that all the points related to this should be brought to the notice of the Disaster Management Secretary.
Two Bailey bridges will be sent to Champawat
Champawat DM Navneet Pandey drew the attention of the Chief Minister towards the need of two Bailey bridges in the district. On this, the Chief Minister directed the DM of Nainital to immediately send two Bailey bridges from Haldwani to Champawat.
