Now the parties will not need to go to the registration office for registration of documents including purchase or sale of land in the state. In an important decision, the Cabinet approved the virtual registry of documents in the state. Due to this, old, sick, helpless and disabled people have got relief from coming to the office. Along with this, fraud in purchase and sale of land will be stopped. The Sub Registrar Office will verify the parties through video conferencing and complete the process of registration of deeds through e-sign. Fraud has come to light on a large scale in the land registry in the state.
Fraud will be banned
Online and virtual registry will also help in curbing this type of fraud effectively. The state cabinet took a decision in this regard on Monday. At present, in the registration of documents in the state, the parties have to appear in the office and record their statements. In the process of virtual registration, the parties will be able to prepare the documents and submit them online from their own place. Also, old, sick and helpless persons will not have to appear in the office for registration.
Industrial investment will also get a boost
Till now, registration of deeds was not possible due to the parties being at remote places. Now such registrations will be done easily. This will also boost industrial investment. Additional Chief Secretary Finance Anand Bardhan said that it will be possible for the parties to upload the digital signature copy online. The process of virtual registration has also been linked to Aadhaar authentication. This will ease verification and will also prevent fraud.
Permission granted for optional use
Additional Chief Secretary Finance Anand Bardhan said that the Central Government has allowed voluntary use of Aadhaar authentication in five cases. This includes registration of deeds, marriage registration, issuance of marriage certificate and certified copy of documents, encumbrance free certificate and e-search of registered documents.
For successful implementation of these works, the process of MoU with Unique Identification Authority of India and NIC or C-DAC to authorize Stamp and Registration Department as e-KYC user agency will be completed soon. Notification has been issued for Aadhaar authentication after permission from the government.
