When Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami showed generosity, the MLAs of the opposition also became his admirers. Removing the long standing displeasure of the opposition MLAs, Chief Minister Dhami reviewed the development works in their constituencies.
Tighten the screws of the officers regarding laxity in work. The head of the state also made it clear that on the issue of development, rising above party politics, he would move ahead on the theme of Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas.
It didn’t take long to instill new hope within the legislators:
In his second innings, Chief Minister Dhami did not take any time to instil new hope among the MLAs. The biggest complaint of the MLAs is about the slow pace of development works in their constituencies. Taking this complaint seriously, Dhami started reviewing the assembly constituency-wise development works.
In the initial phase, seeing the turn of the MLAs of the ruling party, the opposition did not take any time to attack them. This displeasure of the opposition was also removed by the Chief Minister on Thursday. In the secretariat, he reviewed the development plans and construction works in 10 assembly constituencies of the opposition and independent MLAs.
The Chief Minister said that the problems of the MLAs will have to be resolved by taking the departmental officers seriously. Everyone needs to work unitedly for the overall development of the state.
The District Magistrates hold regular meetings with the MLAs in the districts. He instructed that the works of Jal Jeevan Mission should be expedited. There should be no shortage of drinking water in summers. Arrangement of necessary equipment and human resources should be ensured at Tehsil level from the point of view of disaster management.
The Chief Minister directed the District Magistrates to speed up the development works and give responsibility to the area-wise officers to solve the problems. He said that continuous efforts are being made to promote agriculture, horticulture, tourism and industry in the state. Health, education, connectivity are being further strengthened. Welfare schemes have been launched to increase livelihood. Every possible step is being taken to make Uttarakhand the leading state of the country.
In the meeting, the MLAs emphasized on the construction and strengthening of roads, the need for handpumps for drinking water, improving health services in hilly areas. The problems of flood protection work, garbage disposal, drainage and sewerage were put before the Chief Minister. The Chief Minister gave instructions to solve these problems. The Chief Minister himself kept noting the suggestions of the MLAs and the issues of public interest.
Opposition MLAs appreciated this initiative of Chief Minister Dhami. MLAs Pritam Singh, Ravi Bahadur, Mamta Rakesh, Virendra Jati, Furkan Ahmed, Sarwat Karim Ansari, Shahzad, Anupama Rawat, Sanjay Doval, Vikram Singh Negi and Rajendra Singh Bhandari were present in the meeting.
Additional Chief Secretary Radha Raturi, Principal Secretary RK Sudhanshu, Secretaries R Meenakshi Sundaram, Shailesh Bagoli, Nitesh Jha, BVRC Purushottam, Dr. Pankaj Kumar Pandey, HC Semwal, Dipendra Chowdhary, Dr. R. Rajesh Kumar and Director General of Education Banshidhar Tiwari were present. The District Magistrate also participated in the meeting through virtual medium.
