In view of the problems faced in the initial days of Chardham Yatra, efforts have been intensified to streamline the arrangements. Following the instructions of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, many important steps have been taken to conduct smooth and safe travel. Emphasis is being laid on ensuring that the journey is safe and the devotees get the benefit of darshan. Devotees have been requested to travel only on the dates of registration. It has also been decided that permits for vehicles carrying passengers outside the registration days will be suspended and the concerned passengers will be held. At the local level, RTO and district administration teams will check vehicles regularly. Chief Minister Dhami is constantly monitoring the arrangements for Chardham Yatra. He asked the transport department to hold a meeting with tour operators on this issue. It was decided that a letter in this regard would also be sent to the Chief Secretaries and Director Generals of Police of other states.
