Due to dry weather in Uttarakhand, life is miserable due to the scorching heat. Especially in the plains, the maximum temperature has reached around 39 degrees Celsius. Which is three to four degrees Celsius more than normal. However, there were partly cloudy skies along with light showers at some places in the hilly areas. Dust storm also occurred in Dehradun and surrounding areas in the evening. According to the Meteorological Centre, the weather is likely to remain dry in most areas of the state today. The heat may increase in the plains as the mercury rises. There may be partly cloudy sky in other hilly areas including Chardham, there are chances of light showers at some places. Strong winds may blow in the plains.

There was bright sunshine in Doon since Wednesday morning and scorching heat was felt during the day. As the heat increased in the surrounding areas, the bright sunlight made one sweat. However, in the evening there was a dust storm in many areas of Dehradun. Due to which power supply was also disrupted at many places. In some areas, tree branches were also reported to have fallen on power lines. On the other hand, there were moderate winds and light showers at some places in the mountainous areas also. According to the Meteorological Department, today there may be light rain with partial cloud cover in Uttarkashi, Chamoli, Rudraprayag and other hilly areas of the state. The weather is expected to remain dry at most places in the plains.
