When BJP announced its candidate from Tehri Lok Sabha seat, Pritam Singh had taunted that the discussions should be stopped now. He also said that this is a slap on the face of his opponents. In the same month, he had also met state election in-charge Kumari Selja in New Delhi and expressed his displeasure over the appointments made by the party in Tehri Lok Sabha constituency. He had also expressed his reluctance to the organization to contest elections from Tehri seat.
