Preparations intensified for the Investors Summit in Dehradun, wires removed from poles; There will be no impact on mobile service

admin December 6, 2023

Internet broadband and local cable network services may remain affected till December 10 due to the beautification work going on in the city in preparation for the Investors Summit and the network of wires being taken down from the electric poles. From Jolly Grant Airport to FRI, the venue of Investors Summit, all the areas around it will be affected. However, telecom companies are claiming that this will not affect the mobile network service.

Invitation given to PM Modi
The streets of the city are being brightened up for the Global Investors Summit to be held in Dehradun on 8th and 9th December. Also, the wire mesh on the pillars is being removed. Actually, the arrival of Prime Minister Narendra Modi is proposed in the program. For this, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami himself has given an invitation letter to the Prime Minister.

CM Dhami inspected the preparations
The Chief Minister, who returned from Delhi, on Sunday inspected the condition of the road from the airport to FRI and the ongoing construction and beautification works in the city. The district administration had warned all the telecom companies and cable operators to remove the wires spread on the electric poles, but no one took any action on this. Due to this, internet broadband and cable network services have started getting disrupted in the concerned areas.

Administration gave instructions to these companies
Broadband and cable TV services remained affected on Monday in areas like Ghantaghar, Rajpur Road, Chakrata Road, Haridwar Road, EC Road, Saharanpur Road, GMS Road etc. in the center of the city. The administration has instructed Reliance Jio Infocomm Limited, Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited, Airtel that work related to cable and broadband should not be done till December 10. Due to removal of wires, there is a possibility that cable and broadband connectivity within a radius of ten kilometers will be affected.

Connectivity will be affected
Gaurav Shukla, Manager of Reliance Jio Infocom Limited, said that connectivity will be affected in all the areas falling within the beautification area. Other options are being explored for customers. Whereas BSNL DGM RS Fonia refused to say anything in this matter.

Work not done in RTO
Work came to a halt in the RTO office on Monday due to the broadband cable being cut. Fees related to vehicle transfer, permit, fitness, driving license etc. could not be deposited due to lack of internet service. From morning till evening the transporters kept running here and there, but the work was not done.
