This time the Prime Minister aims to win three Lok Sabha parliamentary seats of Garhwal division by holding a public meeting in Rishikesh.
Even before this, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had addressed the gathering at IDPL, Rishikesh in the year 2015. However, he had come here to inquire about the health of his spiritual guru Swami Dayanand.

In this Lok Sabha elections, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has held an election rally in Rudrapur on April 2. Now his second election meeting is in Rishikesh. The main objective of this election meeting is to mobilize voters for the three Lok Sabha parliamentary seats of Garhwal division, Haridwar, Pauri Garhwal and Tehri Lok Sabha seats. More than one lakh people are expected to attend this election rally of the Prime Minister. Arrangements are being made under that. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has a deep connection with the pilgrimage city of Rishikesh. Even before joining active politics, he kept coming here to take refuge in the saints. Despite holding several posts in Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh and BJP, Prime Minister Narendra Modi reached Rishikesh to attend the organization’s programs.
While being the National General Secretary of BJP, he had come to attend the organization’s thinking camp organized at Swargashram in the year 1999. During this time, he had reached here to meet his spiritual guru Swami Dayanand Saraswati of Shishamjhadi in Rishikesh. It was due to the blessings of the pilgrimage city that after this Narendra Modi became the Chief Minister of Gujarat.
After becoming the Prime Minister in the year 2014, the health of Narendra Modi’s spiritual guru Swami Dayanand Saraswati deteriorated and the Prime Minister came to Rishikesh on 11 September 2015 to know about his condition. Before visiting Swami Dayanand Ashram, the Prime Minister also addressed a meeting at the IDPL hockey ground. Then the Central Government had approved the years old demand of ex-servicemen – One Rank One Pension. Now once again, it will be interesting to see how the Prime Minister’s election rally going to be held in Rishikesh will affect the Lok Sabha elections.
Self. Indira and Rajiv Gandhi also came to Rishikesh
Apart from Prime Minister Narendra Modi, two former Prime Ministers have also come to Rishikesh for election meetings. In the year 1982-83, the then Prime Minister Indira Gandhi came to Rishikesh for the election campaign. He addressed the public meeting at Shri Bharat Mandir grounds.
After this, the then Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi came to Rishikesh during the 1989 Lok Sabha and Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections. However, his public meeting here was not already scheduled. But, on the request of the workers, Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi had reached Rishikesh. Then he addressed a public meeting near Bhajan Ashram.
District Magistrate and SSP checked the arrangements
Preparations have intensified for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s election rally to be held in IDPL on April 11. The huge vacant ground in front of Kendriya Vidyalaya IDPL is being prepared for the election rally. Along with the leveling of this ground, the construction work of the pandal is also being done at a fast pace. District Magistrate Dehradun Sonika and SSP Ajay Singh reached here on Tuesday to take stock of the preparations for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s rally. He inspected the preparations being made at the rally site along with the safe room, helipad etc. to be built here and gave necessary instructions to the officials. During this, police area officer Rishikesh Sandeep Negi, police station Raiwala trainee IPS Jitendra Chaudhary, Kotwali in-charge inspector Shankar Singh Bisht, traffic inspector Ravikant Semwal etc. were present.
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s meetings on 13 and 14 April
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s tour to Uttarakhand has been finalized. He will address public meetings in support of BJP candidates in Haldwani on 13 April and in Srinagar and Roorkee on 14 April. According to BJP State General Secretary Aditya Kothari, efforts are also being made to organize other programs of Yogi Adityanath.
He informed that Defense Minister Rajnath Singh will address meetings in Gauchar, Lohaghat and Kashipur on April 12. Apart from this, a public meeting of Union Home Minister Amit Shah is proposed in Kotdwar on 16th April. This program is yet to be finalized. He told that Union Women Empowerment and Child Development Minister Smriti Irani may also visit the state on 14 or 15 April.
