There are reports of forest fires in Himachal Pradesh as well. According to a study, incidents of forest fires are increasing in the Himalayan region. Climate change has had a profound impact on our Himalayas and mountain environment. He appealed to the central and state governments to make effective efforts on a large scale to prevent forest fires. Last month, three employees died in a forest fire at a lissa factory in Almora district. Fire incidents are happening again in hot and dry weather. In the last 24 hours, 4.50 hectares of forest has been affected in seven such incidents.
Government should give compensation of Rs 25 lakh: Karan Mahara
State Congress President Karan Mahara expressed grief over the death of four forest employees due to burning in Binsar Sanctuary and expressed deep condolences to the bereaved family. He has demanded from the government to give Rs 25 lakh compensation to the relatives of the deceased employees and appointment to one person from their family in the department. He said that there is no burn ward in Almora Medical College. In such a situation, the employees burnt by fire cannot be treated. This is more or less the condition of all medical colleges. The government has also not been able to make a concrete policy in this regard.
