
Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has expressed concern over two major vehicle accidents within a week on the Chardham Yatra route. He warned that strict action will be taken against those who are negligent in road safety works. The Chief Minister has directed the Transport Department and the Police Department to conduct strict technical examination of vehicles. Strict testing should be done before issuing the license and caution should be taken while issuing the green card. The Chief Minister has asked to take strict action against over speeding, over loading and driving under the influence of alcohol. On the instructions of the Chief Minister, the Transport Department has constituted a committee under the leadership of RTO Pauri Dwarika Prasad, which has left for the spot. This team will inspect the spot on Sunday.
Tempo Traveler crashed
On Saturday, a tempo traveler crashed near Ratauli village in Rudraprayag. After the incident, the Chief Minister directed to provide help to the victims along with immediate relief and rescue work. He also directed that funds be made available immediately from the accident relief fund. He directed the Public Works Department, BRO and NHAI to take action on priority to improve the condition of roads. Every possible step should be taken to prevent accidents. He also warned the officials that if any officer of any department is negligent in discharging his responsibilities, strict action will be taken against the concerned person.
Lead agency will investigate under the leadership of RTO Pauri
On the instructions of the Chief Minister, the Transport Department has directed the lead agency of road safety to go to the spot and investigate the causes of the accident. For this, a three-member committee has been formed under the leadership of RTO Pauri Dwarika Prasad. It includes Assistant Director of Transport Department Naresh Sangal, Assistant Director of Police Department Avinash Chaudhary and Assistant Director of Public Works Department Sanjay Bisht. This team has left for the accident site. The committee will investigate the accident site and soon submit its report to the headquarters.
