The registration process has started for the Khel Mahakumbh to be held in the state from Gram Panchayat to Block, District and State level. Applications will be made online as well as offline in the concerned sports ground and nearest government office. Khel Mahakumbh will be inaugurated from Almora district on October 4 and will conclude on January 31, 2025. Khel Mahakumbh is being organized to identify talented players in the state and get them enrolled in sports colleges and sports schools for high level training and to open the way for paramilitary force and police recruitment.
Games will be held in coordination with Sports Department and Education Department
Khel Mahakumbh will be held in coordination with District Youth Welfare and Provincial Guard Force, Sports Department and Education Department. Boys and girls from Under-14 to Under-23 category can participate in the competition. Finally, a competition for Divyangjan (14-23) boys and girls will also be organized. The first competition of Khel Mahakumbh will be held at the Gram Panchayat level and the top performing players will play at the block level. Players who perform well in the block will compete in the district. Players who perform well in the district will become participants in the state competitions. During this, the players who come first, second and third in the Gram Panchayat, block, district and state will be awarded cash prizes. This amount will reach their bank account directly. At the same time, in the individual competition of the entire championship, five players will get gold, three silver and two bronze medals. In the team competition, five teams will be given gold, three silver and two bronze medals.

In the Khel Mahakumbh, games like athletics, kabaddi, kho-kho, volleyball, football, badminton, judo, boxing, table-tennis, taekwondo, karate, basketball, yogasana, handball, mallakhamb, hockey and cock fight will be organized. At the same time, disabled players will play games like deaf and dumb, lower limb, spinal over limb and wheel chair.
