More than one lakh government employees of the state can get relief in the form of increase in bonus and dearness allowance before Diwali. The Finance Department has forwarded the file in this regard for higher approval. A proposal in this regard can also be placed in the cabinet meeting to be held on Wednesday. On October 18, a delegation led by State President of State Employees Joint Council Arun Pandey met Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami. The delegation had demanded increase in dearness allowance and bonus payment on Diwali festival. He also told the Chief Minister that the central government has increased the dearness allowance for its personnel by three percent from 50 percent to 53 percent. The council had demanded an increase of three percent in the dearness allowance of state personnel by October 25, payment of salary for the month of October and Diwali bonus to the non-gazetted employees of Group-B and Group-C of the state government. Chief Minister Dhami had assured action on the demands of the council and directed the Finance Department to take necessary steps. In line with these instructions, the Finance Department has started the movement of the file. In this regard, the file has been forwarded for higher approval. Finance Secretary Dilip Jawalkar confirmed the extension of the file.
Project UPSC will fulfill the dreams of the youth: Governor
Dehradun. Governor Lieutenant General Gurmeet Singh (Retd) on Monday launched ‘Project UPSC’ run by Pawan Chintan Dhara Ashram at Raj Bhavan. The Governor said that the youth of the state, especially girls, have unlimited talent. They should not be left out of fulfilling their dream of becoming an administrative officer due to lack of resources, this project will prove to be very helpful for them. On this occasion, the Governor said that girls will be given special priority in this project, so that they can prepare for civil services and wave their flag in this field as well. He told the students that any position can be achieved on the strength of discipline, self-confidence and strong willpower. The Governor said that there are many children in our state who have immense talent. There is a great need for guidance to give shape to their dreams. It is a matter of great happiness that this institution has taken the initiative to promote the youth of Uttarakhand in the important field of civil services.
