SDRF reached the spot as soon as the 07-member trekking team was informed about being trapped in Tapovan and rescued the trekking team safely. Giving information in this regard, SDRF said that on May 31, 2023, the SDRF team was informed by the Disaster Control Room that a 07-member trekking team is stuck in Tapovan, for whose rescue the SDRF team is required.
On the above information, the SDRF team along with Additional Sub-Inspector Pankaj Ghildiyal immediately left for the spot with rescue equipment.
The trackers were traced by the SDRF team after walking about 24 kms. The trekking team included 01 guide, 03 trackers and 03 porters. This trekking party was going from Gangotri towards Tapovan when all of them got stuck in the middle of the way due to sudden bad weather. Taking quick action by SDRF, the trekking party was rescued and brought safely to Gangotri.
