Rishikesh/Dehradun: Uttarakhand is set to take a major step toward modern transport and tourism development as UJVN Limited prepares to conduct a seaplane landing trial at Pashulok Barrage on Monday at around 11 AM.
The trial will evaluate the feasibility, safety, and technical requirements for operating seaplanes in the state. If successful, it could lead to the launch of seaplane services across various water bodies in Uttarakhand.
The initiative is expected to significantly boost tourism by improving connectivity to remote and difficult-to-access areas. Tourists will benefit from reduced travel time and a unique flying experience.
Experts believe the service will promote high-end tourism and attract both domestic and international visitors. Local businesses, including hotels and transport services, are also expected to benefit, creating new employment opportunities.
Additionally, seaplanes could play a crucial role in disaster management by enabling faster access to affected areas during emergencies.
Officials say future expansion plans will depend on the success of this trial. If implemented successfully, Uttarakhand could emerge as a key destination for seaplane tourism in India.
