Now in state universities, apart from the university campus, senior professors from nearby colleges can also be given charge of the vacant post of Vice-Chancellor. The Cabinet took this important decision on Wednesday. In case of vacancy in the post of Vice-Chancellor in a state university, there is a provision to hand over the charge to a senior professor of the university campus itself. There has been a long standing demand from teacher organizations of government and non-government colleges to hand over the charge of Vice Chancellor to senior professors of nearby colleges. This demand has now been fulfilled. The Cabinet also gave green signal to the decision to hand over the charge of Vice Chancellor to senior professors of nearby colleges.
The Cabinet has amended the system of exemption given in stamp duty under MSME policy. There is now a provision of 50 percent discount in stamp duty on the purchase of agricultural and non-agricultural land to entrepreneurs who register under the MSME policy. The Cabinet decided that now this exemption in stamp will not be given at the time of registration. During registration, entrepreneurs will have to pay full stamp duty. Out of this, 50 percent will be reimbursed by the Industries Department. The Cabinet approved laying the accounts of the Energy Department for the year 2022 on the table of the Assembly. The order to give non-functional pay scale to Diploma Engineers under the Revised Assured Career Promotion Scheme was also placed before the Cabinet. The Cabinet approved it.
