When the police suddenly opened fire on people
Advocate Harish Chandra Joshi, resident of Targanj Road, Khatima, says, “It was September 1, 1994. It must have been around 12:30 or 1 o’clock in the afternoon. The police started firing indiscriminately in front of the police station near the old tehsil.

Harish Chandra Joshi tells that the police showed brutality and entered the streets of Khatima and opened fire on the people. In this, people became martyrs along with him. Harish says that after this, for several days, he along with his other colleagues took the injured people to the hospital. Due to fear of the police, people had stopped coming out of their homes and then ration was distributed door to door.
He told that the state agitators are very happy with the announcement of CM Pushkar Singh Dhami. He said that now the children of state agitators will get the benefit in government jobs. He said that CM Dhami himself is a state agitator. Therefore he understood the plight of the state agitators properly.
