The state cabinet meeting will be held on March 20 at 5 pm in the secretariat. This meeting will be chaired by Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami. Points related to excise policy, finance, revenue, education, transport and disaster will be discussed in the meeting.
Government will increase destitute widow and disabled pension:
The government is preparing to increase the destitute widow and disabled pension given through the Social Welfare Department. These pension schemes can be increased from Rs 100 to Rs 200 per month. According to Social Welfare Minister Chandan Ram Das, a proposal has been sought from the department regarding the increase in both these pensions. Then it will be kept in the cabinet.
In order to make the weaker sections of the society self-reliant and to help them, the Social Welfare Department is running pension schemes for various sections in the state. In this episode, on April 21 last year, the government had increased the old age, destitute widow and disabled pension by Rs 100 per month to Rs 1500 per month.
For some time, the demand for increase in destitute widow and disabled pension is being raised, so that the beneficiaries can get some more relief. Now, accepting this, the government has also started exercising to increase the destitute widow and disabled pension.
Social Welfare Minister Chandan Ram Das said that several organizations have given representations to the government regarding the increase in the destitute widow and disabled pension. These are being seriously considered. Departmental officers have been instructed to prepare its proposal as soon as possible. He told that the cabinet will decide how much the increase will be. After this, orders for increase in both these pension schemes will be issued.
