The Special Task Force of Uttarakhand Police has taken the biggest action against drug smugglers so far. STF’s Anti Narcotics Task Force (ANTF) arrested two smugglers from Sitarganj from the Nepal border. The accused were going to bring smack from Bareilly and sell it in Nepal. A loaded pistol was also recovered from the accused. Senior Superintendent of Police STF Ayush Aggarwal said that ANTF has been activated to arrest the smugglers involved in drug smuggling. On Friday, ANTF Inspector Pawan Swaroop received information that some smugglers were going to supply smack to Nepal via Khatima.
Blockade with local police
Based on the information, a blockade was done with the local police. During this, a car tried to be stopped, but it went ahead. The team chased the car and stopped it near Chakarpur Banmandi Mahadev Temple. On searching him, one kg 527 grams of smack, one loaded pistol and six cartridges were recovered. Harvinder Singh resident of Shakti Farm Sitarangaj and Jasdeep resident of Janta Farm, Gary Khera, Sitarangaj who were travelling in the car were arrested on charges of smack smuggling and other charges. According to the police, the cost of smack is around Rs 4.5 crore. Accused Harvinder Singh is Jasdeep Singh’s uncle. The SSP has announced a cash reward of Rs 25,000 to the ANTF team.
Became a smuggler in the desire to go abroad
SSP Ayush Aggarwal said that Harvinder Singh was smuggling drugs for two years. He supplies smack from Bareilly to Nepal and other places. Jasdeep Singh was trying to go abroad. Some time ago he tried to go abroad secretly, but was caught.
Now he was planning to go to Canada with a passport and visa, but he did not have money. In such a situation, he started smuggling drugs with his uncle. He was smuggling drugs for six-seven months.
