admin June 9, 2023

Beneficiaries of Chief Minister Higher Education Meritorious Scholarship Promotion Scheme will not be entitled to scholarship from any other institution. This is a monthly scholarship scheme, but it will not be paid every month. The scholarship amount will be sent in two installments to the bank account of the students through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) throughout the year.
The scheme will be implemented from 2023-24
Chief Minister Higher Education Meritorious Scholarship Promotion Scheme will be implemented from the academic session 2023-24. The government has taken a decision in this regard. Along with this, a guideline has been fixed regarding the scholarship. The session for scholarship will be counted from July 1 to June 30. Scholarship will be given for the said period only. It is clarified that the month of admission will not be taken into account.

Scholarship will be calculated on the basis of marks obtained in the previous year.
Higher Education Minister Dr. Dhan Singh Rawat said that the scholarship for each session will be calculated on the basis of marks obtained in the previous year. Whereas, the attendance will be counted for the session being studied. The eligibility for admission to BA first year will be decided on the basis of marks obtained in 12th and attendance in session 2023-24. The student will have the right to choose any other scholarship received from the state government or any other institution as an institutional student.

Register on the portal for scholarship:
Dr. Rawat said that it will be mandatory for the students to apply for the scholarship by registering themselves on the Samarth portal. This application will have to be certified by the competent nodal, principal or registrar of the concerned college or university. It has been made mandatory to apply for scholarship within 20 days of admission in the institution.

Percentage marks required for scholarship:
Higher Education Minister Dr. Dhan Singh Rawat said that it will be mandatory to get minimum 60 percent marks for faculty-wise scholarship at graduation and post-graduation level. Those who get 75 percent or more marks will get the benefit of scholarship. It is being considered to provide this facility to those who get 70 percent marks. Faculty-wise first three rank holders at graduation level will get scholarship of Rs.3000, Rs.2000 and Rs.1500 respectively. At the postgraduate level, this amount has been fixed at Rs 5000, Rs 3000 and Rs 2000 respectively.
