Four ambitious projects in terms of infrastructure and economic development in Uttarakhand will start taking shape on the ground from June 2026. In this sequence, the Tourism Department has to formulate a policy in four weeks to develop wedding destinations in the state. Soon steps will be taken to arrange for night landing of aircraft at Dehradun and Pantnagar airports. Two new cities will be developed. Work will be done in a phased manner for Ganga and Sharda Corridor Development and Knowledge City in Dakpathar. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has set a deadline to start work on all these projects. CM Dhami gave instructions to senior officials
Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami gave instructions to senior officials in this regard in the third meeting of Uttarakhand Investment and Infrastructure Development Board (UIIDB) at the Secretariat on Wednesday. He said that to get the state recognized as a wedding destination, attention should be paid to the development of infrastructure facilities by selecting various sites. For this, special attention will also have to be paid to its promotion by taking cooperation from wedding planners, hotel groups. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has emphasized on developing Uttarakhand as a wedding destination in the Global Investors Conference held in Dehradun in December last year. After this, two wedding destinations have been developed in Rudraprayag district in the form of Triyuginarayan and Omkareshwar temple. Similarly, the attraction towards other places is increasing.
Work will be done on the model of development with heritage
The Chief Minister said that steps should be taken under a clear action plan to develop two new cities in the state and to develop all kinds of basic facilities. He laid special emphasis on the development of places important from the point of view of tourism and pilgrimage as projects of UIDB. He said that work will have to be done keeping in mind the mythological and spiritual importance of Ganga and Sharda Corridor. It should also be ensured that the results of the objectives for which UIDB has been formed in the interest of the state should be visible soon. He said that the state will move forward on the model of development with heritage.
Plans should be made for the needs of 25 years
He said that keeping in mind the needs of the next 25 years, well-planned plans of various development schemes should be made and implemented on the ground. To fulfill the resolution of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to develop India by the year 2047, work will have to be done on short-term, short-term and long-term plans in the state. Projects should be taken forward by incorporating the suggestions of public representatives and stakeholders. He said that these projects will be reviewed regularly. Cabinet Minister Subodh Uniyal, MLAs Madan Kaushik and Renu Bisht, Infrastructure Monitoring Council Vice President Vishwas Dabar, Chief Secretary Radha Raturi, Additional Chief Secretary Anand Bardhan, Principal Secretary RK Sudhanshu, Secretary R Meenakshi Sundaram and many other officials were present in the meeting.
