Illegal construction done on the banks of Rispana river will be demolished from today. The Municipal Corporation team will start the action from the lime kiln with JCB this morning in the presence of police force, which will be carried out till Dalanwala Chander Road Basti. The police also inspected this area on Sunday. As per the instructions of NGT, the encroachments made after 2016 are being demolished.
Action is being taken as per NGT order
The action to demolish the encroachment on the banks of river Rispana is being done as per the orders of NGT. In this sequence, the Municipal Corporation conducted a survey of 27 slums on the 13 kilometer stretch between Kathbangla Basti and Mothrowala on the banks of River Rispana. Of these, 524 encroachments were found after 2016. 89 encroachments were found on municipal corporation land, while 12 were found on Municipal Corporation Mussoorie and 11 on revenue land.
On the other hand, more than 414 encroachments have come to light on the land which was given under the control of MDDA for the River Front Development Project under the control of the Municipal Corporation. Leaving aside the remaining departments/agencies, the Municipal Corporation prepared the final list of 73 encroachments after hearing the objections. On which action is being taken from today. A strategy regarding this was prepared in a meeting held under the chairmanship of SSP Ajay Singh last Saturday.
It was discussed in the meeting that the campaign will be given continuous momentum in order to resolve the encroachment cases. So that in order to resolve all the doubts, strict action can be taken against encroachment. Municipal Commissioner Gaurav Kumar, Superintendent of Police Pramod Kumar, Additional Municipal Commissioner Bir Singh Budiyal, Deputy Municipal Commissioner Sadar Gopal Ram Binwal, Sub-District Magistrate Sadar Har Giri etc. were present in the meeting. After this, on Sunday, police area officer Dalanwala Ashish Bhardwaj inspected the lime kiln to Chanrad Road area. Now from today the joint team is going to take action against encroachment. Efforts will be made to remove 25 to 30 illegal encroachments on the first day. It is being told that a history-sheeter is indiscriminately encroaching on government land between lime kiln and Chanrad Road Basti.
Fear of protest against action, police force ready
There is a possibility of protest against the demolition action being taken against illegal construction in slums. After the year 2016, many such persons sitting in large numbers may create ruckus. However, the Municipal Corporation and administration as well as a large number of police forces are ready to take action further. The team will arrive with all the equipment to drive away the protesters.
