The government has suspended two Executive Engineers of Public Works Department in the case of negligence in construction works. Secretary Public Works Department Dr. Pankaj Kumar Pandey has issued orders to suspend Executive Engineer Viveka Prasad posted in development block Baijaro and Executive Engineer Tanuj Kamboj posted in Srinagar block. Executive Engineer Viveka Prasad posted in Baijaro construction block is accused of not complying with the instructions of Principal Secretary Forest Department regarding the construction work of Ufrankhal-Bhatbo-Gadkhark-Bhagwatitailya motor road. Also, despite four months delay in the proceedings related to forest land transfer, he did not send the desired report to the Forest Department. In such a situation, the government suspended him on charges of serious negligence and violation of employee conduct rules. He has been attached to the Department Head Office, Dehradun. At the same time, Executive Engineer Tanuj Kamboj posted in Srinagar, National Highway section is accused of not doing proper supervision and monitoring of the arch bridge under construction near Narkota under the Chardham project. The tower and pillar of this arch bridge have been damaged.
He has been suspended on charges of negligence towards work and violation of employee conduct rules. He has been attached to the Chief Engineer Office, Pauri during the suspension period.
