The BJP government of the state can take steps to implement this decision. There is a meeting of Pushkar Singh Dhami cabinet to be held on 28 August. Discussion on this subject is possible in the meeting. The organizations of employees and teachers in the state have been agitating for a long time demanding implementation of Old Pension Scheme (OPS).
Proposal has been sent to the Center in support of demands
A proposal has been sent to the Center by the state government in support of the demands of the employees. Now the central government is going to take steps forward in this direction and implement the important decision of UPS for its employees.
Employees’ expectations increased
With this decision of the central government, the expectations of the employees in the state have also increased. The Pushkar Singh Dhami government has taken many decisions in the interest of the employees during its tenure so far. In such a situation, it is believed that UPS can also be implemented in Uttarakhand. So far, the Maharashtra government has taken steps in this direction. The Uttarakhand government is providing pension facility to its employees along with salary and allowances on the basis of equality with the central government. In such a situation, the notification and detailed guidelines of this decision of the central government are awaited.
Meeting to be held on 28 August
It is believed that even before the notification is issued by the central government regarding UPS, the state government can give its in-principle consent on this issue. The state cabinet is to meet in the secretariat on 28 August. This subject may come up in the meeting. If highly placed sources are to be believed, there are no signs of any kind of dilemma on this subject for the state government after the decision of the central government.
