State’s Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Minister Ganesh Joshi informed that a four-day ShreeAnn (Millet) festival is being organized from May 13 to 16. In this, there will be a brainstorm on the immense possibilities of millets in the state. Along with this, the state government will work to implement the conclusion that will come in the churning.
Agriculture Minister Ganesh Joshi gave the above information during a press conference at a hotel on Rajpur Road on Friday. He said that in accordance with the proposal of the Government of India, the year 2023 is being celebrated as Millet Year. In this sequence, millet crops have been identified as Shrianna.
He said that Union Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar will participate as the chief guest in the inaugural program of Shri Anna Mahotsav. Union Minister of State for Agriculture Kailash Chowdhary will attend the next day. Apart from this, Agriculture Ministers of Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Madhya Pradesh will also participate in the program as special guests. About 10,000 farmers from all over the state are participating in this program through the Agriculture Department.
Said that in Uttarakhand, under the leadership of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, special efforts are being made by the state government for the promotion of Srianna (millet) crops and coarse grains. Expressing happiness, Minister Ganesh Joshi said that keeping this resolution of the Government of India in view, ShriAnn Mahotsav will be organized by the State Government from May 13 to 16 (four-day) at the Survey Ground located in Survey of India for the promotion of Shri Anna crops. is being organized. Agriculture Director Gaurishankar, Metropolitan President Siddharth Agarwal, Kisan Morcha President Jogendra Pundir etc were present on this occasion.
Various stalls will be set up in the festival:
A total of 134 stalls related to millet will be set up in the festival. There will also be 17 stalls of Agriculture and Linear Departments, 10 stalls of Government and Non-Government Agricultural University, Pantnagar University, Bharsar University, Vivekananda Hill Agricultural Research Institute, Almora etc. Stalls of Indian Institute of Millet Research of Hyderabad, NRLM’s group, Agricultural Mechanization, Organic group, startup of Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Kashipur, Patanjali Yogpeeth, Industry Department will be set up.
Cultural programs will be held in the evening in the festival:
Minister Ganesh Joshi informed that colorful cultural programs will also be presented in ShriAnn Mahotsav. In which cultural presentations will be given by many artists including famous folk artists of Uttarakhand like Narendra Negi, Saurabh Maithani, Pritam Bharatwan, Maya Upadhyay. Apart from this, theatrical staging and welcome song will be presented on behalf of Anant Gopal Sangeet Manch and Mountain Theater, Pauri.
Technical session will be held in Millet Festival:
The minister said that as the main attraction of the program, the exhibition of products related to coarse grains (millet) of Uttarakhand, display of millet products and other products by major groups of the state, display of products through startups, display of products in major hotels of the state. There will be tableaux of food festival and cultural program presented by prominent folk artists of the state. A technical session on millet crops will also be organized on May 13 at ShriAnn Mahotsav.
