Today on Friday, the second phase of voting is going on in 13 states of the country. In Uttarakhand, voting has been completed for all five seats of the state in the first phase itself. Counting of votes will take place on June 4. This time 55 candidates from the state are trying their luck in the elections. There are queues of voters outside the polling stations in UP and other states since Friday morning.
Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami appealed
In this sequence, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has appealed to the people of the country to ‘vote first, then have refreshments’. He appealed to the public through internet media. He said, ‘I make a humble request to the godlike public to participate in the second phase of voting process under the Lok Sabha elections-2024 and make good use of their voting rights in this great festival of democracy. Your one vote will prove helpful in building a strong, capable and powerful India.
Voting today in 13 states
Voting for the second phase of the great festival of democracy is taking place on Friday. In this, the fate of 1,202 candidates on 88 seats in 13 states will be decided. In this phase, the major candidates whose fate will be sealed in EVMs include former Congress President Rahul Gandhi, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, actress Hema Malini, Arun Govil who played the role of Ram in the serial Ramayana, Congress leader Shashi Tharoor etc.
