
The government’s efforts to control inflation in Uttarakhand have been successful. Uttarakhand is at third place in the list of states with lowest inflation in the country. The people of the state have got relief as the inflation rate remained at 3.61 percent. There are many states in the country where inflation has increased very rapidly in the last six months. If we look at the data of the Central Statistics Department, Orissa is the state with the highest inflation rate with a rate of 7.11.
Uttarakhand was hit harder by inflation than many states.
In the month of January 2022, Uttarakhand was hit harder by inflation than many states. Then the inflation rate in urban areas was 7.62 percent, while in rural areas this rate was 6.38 percent. Pushkar Singh Dhami government took several steps to keep inflation under control. As a result, the inflation rate in rural areas of the state came down to 3.75 percent. The consumer price index is 182.5. Similarly, the inflation rate decreased further in the urban areas of the state. In urban areas it was 3.29 percent in the month of April. The consumer price index stood at 185.1. The consumer price index combined in rural and urban areas of the state was 183.5.
Kept the state’s markets out of the control of middlemen
The reduction in inflation rate in the state is being linked to the efforts of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami for good governance. On the instructions of the Chief Minister, the markets of the state were kept out of the control of middlemen. At the same time, by providing better marketing system to local products, the government has been successful in reducing the inflation rate.
