Uttarakhand received Rs 1558 crore as share in central taxes, CM Dhami expressed gratitude to PM

The Central Government has once again given huge financial assistance to Uttarakhand. According to the recommendations of the 15th Finance Commission, an amount of Rs 1558.44 crore has been given as the state’s share in central taxes. With this assistance, the pace of development work will not slow down due to lack of funds in the state. Especially after the implementation of the code of conduct for the Lok Sabha elections, development works can be continued. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said that development works will be completed rapidly with this amount. Now only one month is left for the financial year 2023-24 to end. The code of conduct for Lok Sabha elections may come into effect in a few days. In such a situation, to ensure that the code of conduct does not impact the development work, it is necessary to get financial approval and release for the construction work. Now we will not have to face financial crisis for this work.

Financial assistance is being received from the center
The Union Finance Ministry has released a huge amount of the state’s share in central taxes to the state. Before this, financial assistance has been received from the Center within a month. Last day, the Central Government had released the second installment of Rs 372.62 crore for the current financial year under the Special Assistance Scheme to the states for capital investment.

The budget has to be used till March 31, 2024
Not only this, the Central Government has sanctioned an amount of Rs 720 crore as additional financial assistance and has sought proposals for construction schemes from the State Government. Out of this, an amount of Rs 125 crore is for urban bodies and Rs 36 crore is for the reforms being done in urban planning. The state has to utilize this amount by March 31, 2024.

CM Dhami expressed gratitude
A few days ago, the state government had issued orders directing the departments to make maximum use of the budget and issue work orders for construction works before the implementation of the code of conduct. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami expressed happiness over this assistance being received from the Centre. Also expressed gratitude to Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman and Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
