The new education policy will be implemented in Uttarakhand from Tuesday. Education Minister Dr. Dhan Singh Rawat told that under this the classes will start from pre-primary itself. SCERT has prepared its syllabus.
The department has named the pre-primary classes as Bal Vatika. In the Directorate General of Education, CM Pushkar Singh Dhami will launch the New Education Policy (NEP) by inaugurating Bal Vatikas. With this, Uttarakhand will become the first state in the country to implement NEP.
The Education Minister said that in the first phase, operation of Bal Vatikas would start in five thousand Anganwadi centers running in primary schools. At the block level, in the presence of regional MLAs and local public representatives, Bal Vatikas will be inaugurated in the identified Anganwadi centers. Academics, parents and students will also be present in this.
He said that on behalf of the State Council of Educational Research and Training, three exercise books namely handbooks for Anganwadi workers and teachers, health for children, dialogue and creation have been prepared. The Minister said that all the preparations have been completed by the School Education Department for the implementation of National Education Policy-2020 in the state. On the occasion of the inauguration of Bal Vatika classes, the Chief Minister will also inaugurate the newly constructed building of Directorate of Elementary Education. Along with this, foundation stone of SCERT building will also be laid.
Classes will start from Pre Primary in NEP:
Education Minister Dr. Dhan Singh Rawat informed that 4447 Anganwadi centers are running in the primary school premises of the state. In these centers, students will be prepared for class one by starting classes from pre-primary. Pre-primary has been named as Balvatika by the Education Department. A separate syllabus has been prepared for this by the department.
There are more than 20 thousand Anganwadi centers:
20 thousand 67 Anganwadi centers are approved in Uttarakhand. Out of this, 20 thousand 17 Anganwadi centers are being operated. 14555 Anganwadi workers are posted in these centres. Apart from this, 14249 assistants and 4941 mini Anganwadi workers are appointed in Anganwadi centers.
