Uttarakhand will cooperate in increasing the tiger population in Rajasthan. The government is seriously considering the request made by Rajasthan to provide four female tigers. In view of the increasing number of tigers and other wildlife in the state and their attacks, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has also given instructions to consider and take action on the proposals related to translocating wildlife in case of demand from other states. Uttarakhand is continuously playing a leading role in the conservation of tigers. According to the last count, the number of tigers in the state is 560. Corbett Tiger Reserve is the leader among all the tiger reserves of the country in terms of density of tigers. The number of tigers there is 260. Meanwhile, the number of wildlife attacks has also increased in the state. If we look at the picture of last year itself, tigers killed 17 people in different areas of the state.
CM Dhami had given these instructions
Not only this, the attacks of gangsters have also become a cause of trouble for the people of the state. In view of the increasing attacks by wildlife, especially guldar and tiger, in recent times, Chief Minister Dhami had given instructions to take effective steps to resolve the problem. It was also directed that if the wildlife exceeds the carrying capacity of the forests, then the possibility of translocating them should be examined by brainstorming on proposals related to the demand coming from other states.
Rajasthan made this demand from Uttarakhand
Meanwhile, with a view to increase the number of tigers in Rajasthan, Rajasthan has requested Uttarakhand to provide four female tigers. The Chief Wildlife Warden of Rajasthan has sent a letter to Uttarakhand regarding this. State’s Chief Wildlife Warden Dr. Sameer Sinha confirmed this. He said that this proposal is being intensively examined. A decision in this regard will be taken after discussions at a higher level in the coming days.
