For the public, the great festival of democracy i.e. the voting period has started from Monday. However, this process, which started from April 8, is for voters above 85 years of age and disabled voters. Polling teams have started reaching door to door. After which voting is being conducted through postal ballot. 87 year old BC Pant, resident of Haldwani, after casting the postal ballot, appealed to everyone to participate in voting in maximum numbers. 1076 elderly people who are above 85 years of age in Kaladhungi, Ramnagar, Haldwani, Lalkuan, Bhimtal and Nainital assembly of Nainital district. And 480 disabled voters had earlier filled the 12D form demanding that they get the right to vote sitting at home. Their voting is to be held in the first phase from 8th to 10th April and in the second phase from 11th to 13th April. On Monday, the team of Haldwani Assembly went to the homes of these identified voters and got them started casting their votes.
